Short Description

​Howmans Gap Key Leaders are contracted positions crucial to the smooth delivery of our programs. Welcoming the school, staff liasing, managing the program officers and ensuring outcomes are delivered are key daily tasks. Instructing both onsite and offsite activities and leading overnight hiking trips for a range of diverse clientel.

About the Centre

​Howmans Gap Alpine Centre is located 4kn North of Falls Creek within the Alpine National Park. The facility can accommodate up to 200 people across self contained house, 2 x dormitory style wings and a new state of the art disability wing. Both onsite and offsite activities and overnight hiking/ camping experiences can be tailored to. The newly built Falls Creek MTB trails start and finish at our doorstep, while hiking, WW river access, climbing and canoeing options are close by. In winter we remain open and also operate Falls Creek Cross Country ski school, ski hire, private lessons and a cafe. Howmans Gap host a range of guests year round from goverment and private education schools to community, disabled, indigenous and sporting groups.

About the Role

​The successful applicants will hold a high level of both technical hard skills and facilitation methods and adaptable to a diverse range of groups. A bubbly/ friendly and "easy to get along with" attitude is essential. You will need to focus on customer service and be happy to work in a close team environment, reporting to the Program Co-ordinator and Operations.

Working With Children, Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate and National Police Check  (Completion upon successful applications)
Minimum Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation OR overseas equivalent
First Aid (Remote or Wilderness)
Desirable Qualifications: ACIA - TRG or above, Bronze Medallion, Vertical Rescue Ticket
