Short Description

​YMCA Swimming Teachers are an essential component in the delivery of YMCA swimming lessons.  Swimming Teachers are required to maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends and industry development.

About the Centre

​The Kew Recreation Centre is an important community facility that is one of the four leisure and aquatic facilities that make up the Boroondara Leisure and Aquatic Facilities (BLAF) that is managed by YMCA Victoria in partnership with the City of Boroondara. About the Role

Capabilities and Behaviours

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about swim teaching
  • Able to deliver skill appropriate programs
  • An understanding of culture awareness
  • Available to work mornings, afternoons and weekends.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Prior experience teaching would be highly regarded
  • Extension qualifications such as AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool would be highly regarded

 

Qualifications and / or Licences

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent
  • HLTAID003 Apply First Aid or equivalent
  • HLTAID001 Perform CPR or equivalent
  • Working with Children Check
  • ACF Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate
  • Teacher Rescue Competency
