At the YMCA, we believe that no one should miss out on being healthier and happier.
The Y aims to build healthy, happy and connected communities, with a range of health focused facilities and services available to the general public. Unfortunately, usually because of financial hardship, not everyone has equal access to the services needed to lead a healthy and active life.
YMCA Open Doors aims to ensure that no one is denied access to the Y because of financial reasons. Thanks to the generosity of local communities and partners, YMCA is able to raise funds to cover the cost of Y programs and services for people experiencing disadvantage.
Below are five ways you can contribute to YMCA Open Doors and support your local community
Your local YMCA facility is leading the YMCA Open Doors charge. Stroll up to the front desk of your local facility and you will find donation tins - the perfect place to give whatever you can, even if it’s just the change left-over from your morning coffee or the 10 cents you found on the ground. If you would like to make a more substantial donation in centre, we have Donation Envelopes available, just ask our friendly staff.
Donating online is super easy – you can do it from your couch at home! Click here for more information.
3. Entertainment Book
When you purchase a 2016/17 Entertainment Book from your local facility, $13 of your purchase goes to YMCA Open Doors. Not only are you contributing to a great cause, but you are also gaining access to thousands of offers to the best Melbourne has to offer!
4. Workplace giving
Pay through your workplace. Your generosity automatically comes out of your pre-tax salary; this means you pay less tax and we save on administration costs.
Arrangement can be made with your employer's payroll department. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
5. Fundraising events
By participating in fantastic events such as the YMCA Swimathon, YMCA Bridge Project, centre-based Family Days as well as the very excitingYMCA Father’s Day Fun Run, you are contributing to YMCA Open Doors and getting healthy and active at the same time.
